Chainless Bicycle

The most painstaking thing in an old bicycle is a lose chain. The chain tends to come of the toothed wheel every now and then during cycling and it takes long effort to put it back again. So in this mechanical project directly a shaft is employed to transmit power. When you start paddling bevel gear arrangements transmit the power to shaft which inturn transmits this to the rear wheel again by using gearing arrangements.

Gearless Transmission

Gears have become an integral part in many power transmitting machines. However their biggest drawback is that their manufacturing is very difficult. Also they require proper maintenace and can only transmit power between short distances. Bevel gears (used for transmitting power between shafts at right angle) have a difficult design. But this difficulty can be overcomed by using a a power transmitting element other than gears. This is capable of transmitting power at right angles without any slip or loss. It is very cheap yet useful project.
