Car Ergonomics

Ergonomics In Car

ERGONOMICS

Ergonomics, or the study of human-machine interfacing, is important to race vehicles because the ultimate control of the vehicle belongs to the driver. When designing the interface, several aspects should be taken into account so that an optimized system of control is produced.

Cars

TOP 5 Most Expensive Cars in World

1. Maybach Exelero ($8 million)
The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance unique sports car built in 2004. The 700 hp (522 kW) four-seater with a twin turboV12 engine is a one-off design built by Maybach-Motorenbau

2. Lamborghini Veneno ($4.5 million)
I call it not a sports car or super car but rather a hyper car for good reason. The 6.5-litre V12 engine will rocket the Veneno to 60 mph from a standstill in 2.9 seconds on the way to its 220-mile-per-hour top speed.

3. Lykan Hypersport ($3.4 million)
Hypersport features an engine with 750 horse[power and a top speed of 245 mph. Plus, with its diamond crusted LED headlights, there's no hiding hypercars over the top price tag.

4. Bugatti Veyron Super Sports ($2.4 million)
The Super Sport version of the Veyron is recognised by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 430.9 km/h (267.7 mph),[5] and the roadster Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse version is the fastest roadster in the world, reaching an averaged top speed of 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph) in a test on 6 April 2013.

5. Lamborghini Reventon ($2 million)
Its top speed was recorded in UAE at 221 miles per hour (355.7 km/h). The official press release stated that only 20 vehicles would be sold to the public.

Suspension design

Suspension

Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springsshock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion between the two.Suspension systems serve a dual purpose — contributing to the vehicle's road holding/handling and braking for good active safety and driving pleasure, and keeping vehicle occupants comfortable and a ride quality reasonably well isolated from road noise, bumps, vibrations, etc. These goals are generally at odds, so the tuning of suspensions involves finding the right compromise. It is important for the suspension to keep the road wheel in contact with the road surface as much as possible, because all the road or ground forces acting on the vehicle do so through the contact patches of the tires. The suspension also protects the vehicle itself and any cargo or luggage from damage and wear. The design of front and rear suspension of a car may be different.

Solar Phone Charger

Scarcity of available enrgy has forced mankind to search new resources, this has lead to advancements of in utilising of Solar Energy. Using a simple solar panel we an use it to charge our cell phone. The circuit iagram is as shown below. It isa pretty cheap, innnovative and a higly useful project. All you need will be a solar panel, circuit diaggram and afemale USB.

Motorised Screw Jack

A motorized screw jack is an automatic screw  jack having a D.C motor that powers your jack. The motor rotates your power screw and thereby lifts up the car. The advantage here is that a large amount of manual effort is saved. It is easy to manufacture as you only need a jack, motor and a controlling circuit.

Shock Absorber cum Power Generation

Considering the scarcity of available resources it is our responsibility to completely  utilize the available energy. One such energy that is being ignored by us is the linear motion of suspension used in our bikes and cars. We all know the condition of roads in India thus this mechanical project when applied to bikes and cars will be very helpful in generation of electricity. The linear motion of suspension can be converted into rotary motion of dynamo by a rack and pinion arrangement. Thus it is highly useful because the number of times you bump in a pothole you will be  producing  electricity which can be used to recharge your  vehicular battery.

Automatic Window

An Automatic  Window is a power operated window that opens or closes just by feather touch of a button. This project is pretty much attractive to professors as it is new and easy to manufacture. The main advantage of this project is the mechanism that is used is very small in size and only requires a single  motor to open both the window panels. It is a simple single crank mechanism. It only requires a motor and a very few links to manufacture.

Pneumatic Bench Wise

A large  amount of energy is wasted in clamping and removing of work pieces from a bench wise. Also due to wearing out of threads the mechanical advantage is lost and efficiency drops considerably. Manual forces required to properly grip the job is  pretty much high and activity  is  very cumbersome. All this problems can  be easily overcome by using this easy mechanical project that is  Pneumatic Bench Vise. It is easy to manufacture as it only requires movable  jaws, pneumatic circuit and an air compressor.

Vehicle Fuel Theft System

NNowadays vehicle fuel theft is increasing due to the increase of fuel price. In order to avoid the vehicle theft, we have designed a project to serve the situation. In our project sensors are placed inside and around the petrol tank.
In running condition, the petrol flow is very slow however if there is a theft or a leakage, the petrol level drop is abnormally high. This is detected by the sensors and a signal is sent which alerts the user.nowa

Chassis design

Chasis constraints and setup

Importance.:

The chassis (or frame) of the car is more than the sum of its parts. On the surface, the chassis is the single largest part of the car, and really does do much that can be observed other than hold things together. However, its gets more interesting as you start digging into the car.

Handling constraints & setup

“Handling” is the term used to describe the fundamental behavior of a vehicle being driven. It is often described in terms of the response a car has to driver input. For example, the car pushes (or has understeer) in a corner or the car is loose (or has oversteer) in a corner.
